English (PASTIME) Project Planning Committee was created to assess the instructional and technology needs of students and teachers representing two public school divisions and two private schools. The committee consisted of representatives from Roanoke City Public Schools, Lynchburg City Public Schools, New Vistas Day School, and Roanoke Catholic School.
The grant provided a minimum of one iPod touch for every 10 students in each of the school divisions. In addition to this purchase, carts or cases and Apple laptops were provided to aid in syncing applications and content on to the iPods. The grant also provided headphones, document cameras, projectors, speakers, presentation cables, microphones, protective cases, and iTunes cards.
